The third year of Pin Headz issues (2022 #25-36) are now posted.
2022 – year in pinball review.
Covid is over but the effects are still being felt. Like a city rebuilding after a long war. But as long as people still care about pinball we will always rebuild. Local tournaments were pulling in around 20-25 people. I had around 25-30 Pin Headz monthly subscribers in 2022. Bonus Junk in 2022 included hot pepper seeds, foreign currency, pinball themed valentines day cards, limited reprints of issues #1-3 and of course random junk and baseball cards.

Compared to recent years only a handful of games were released in 2022. According to ipdb it was just Dr No (James Bond), Rush and Toy Story 4. These days it seems like there is a new game released every month.
The biggest events of the year were the European Pinball Championship with 255 players and The Open / IFPA World Championship with 251 players. Zach McCarthy won the open and took home over 150 WPPRs. That is a small haul compared to todays point-flation era. This year (2026) 25th place in The Open got 150 WPPRs, first place was almost 400.

Arcade Legacy’s Forest Fair Mall location finally closed in 2022. They were the last remaining (non-anchor) business inside the mall. They tore down the old mall just this year (2026). RIP Forest Fair Mall. Arcade Legacy Bar Edition in Northside also closed in 2022. https://www.citybeat.com/food-drink/northsides-arcade-legacy-bar-edition-to-close-13089722/

But speaking of rebuilding, Jesse Baker leased a new space in 2022 which is the current amazing location of Arcade Legacy. It opened in early 2023.
Stay tuned for year 4 issues and year in review.
